Improving your Health

Every day brings a new opportunity to start fresh with health and fitness disciplines. Everyday also brings a chance to begin setting a mission for an exercise and nutrition routine. Just like many aspects of life we have to identify the reason or goal for doing a particular activity. Exercise and eating right are the same way! People work with a wellness or nutrition coach because they are ready to make a change in their lives. They envision a life in which stress is more easily managed, food nourishes their body and fitness becomes a regular activity. They can see how their lives will improve if they are truly well, but they have not yet succeeded by their own means.

After working with a wide variety of individuals for nutrition counseling and education I have come to realize that if people have a well defined plan and accountability – they will succeed! It sounds so simple. I also have noticed that most people know what they should do but they don’t do it. Why is that? By the time we reach our late teens and early adulthood we usually have a good understanding of what’s healthy and what is not. By this time we also have formed many of our lifestyle habits, making it difficult to change directions, regarding our health, as we progress in age. It is important to remember that setting goals gives your life focus and meaning. These goals help to align our habits with the many characteristics we know to be true about a healthy wellbeing.

The goal of all my coaching sessions or health presentations is to help people understand they can change negative habits into positive ones, and when this realization is achieved many start to view their health and fitness goals in a different light. Wellness and nutrition coaching is not another diet plan, it is a systematic way of viewing your activity and eating patterns. Through this process I can help you see the reality of your current fitness and nutrition routine, and help you draw out an action plan for the future.
